Placement

Placements are the locations where Stores choose to run recommendations/advertisements on a website, web page, or mobile app. You can configure them on the ADCIO Admin.

Display Count

This property decides the size of the list. To understand this, refer to the below image, where a store configures the first 2 items (marked by red boxes) for recommendations/ads. In this case, Display Count becomes 2.

💡
Display Count must be smaller than or equal to the number of all the products of the store.

Activated

It decides whether the placement will show recommendations (activated) or not (deactivated).

Page

In ADCIO Admin, a placement is bounded to a page. To understand this, let’s see the below example.

You might have a number of placements, but only a few of them will be used per pages.

For example, let say you have three placements: PLACEMENT_MAIN_TOP and PLACEMENT_MAIN_BOTTOM on the main page, and PLACEMENT_CATEGORY_TOP on the category page.

  • 2 Placements on the main page

  • 1 Placement on the category page

If the user enters the main page, only the PLACEMENT_MAIN_TOP and PLACEMENT_MAIN_BOTTOM placements have to be loaded and not PLACEMENT_CATEGORY_TOP. This is why the placements are bound to the pages. The page property of the placement determines when the placement has to be loaded.
